Beating yourself over being "slow"??? ART TAKES TIME!!!
[QRT with your time π]
It takes me (in timelapse recorded time, so ONLY brushstrokes timed):
β¨ for busts: 8-20h
β¨ for chibis: 8-40h
β¨ for full illustrations: 20-70h

And at some point I get bored and now I have so many so-close-to-being-done wips in the backlog.
It adds up!!!

It's about redrawing something over and over to the point of either not getting it done or spending years..
I spent a few years on and off trying to just draw a cat on it's back, showing it's belly. I "FINISHED" ..then took WAY MORE TIME to do it over.
I wasn't overly experienced with drawing realistic cats. I should have settled on cartoony cats. Because when I tried to do it realistic, I kept worrying so much of every little thing.
It dragged on for so long.
Art takes the time it takes! Don't beat yourself up about it. π
