Car story wasn't leaked. He was already down in Birmingham gettin showed around. U might have mixed that up with mcnamara story for when he was goin to wolves after his testimonial year n celtic hadn't offered him a contract of his liking till he was travelling to sign for wolves

We only pulled the finger out when we realised Villa were in for him. Arrogantly assumed he’d be grateful to come, regardless of the offer. A harsh lesson, but hopefully one learned.

If the intent and offer was there he would have. We buggered about assuming he’d take whatever was offered. Villa came in and showed real desire and made a very strong offer. Would you do your job for a lot less money because you liked the brand more?
