"If this feels wrong and corrupt and basically Courts Gone Wild, that’s because it is. But by now, this sort of behavior from right-wing jurists is par for the course."

We can thank John Roberts for setting the tone of corruption for courts. Since he doesn't give a damn how corrupt the Republican appointees are on his court, why would any other court care.
Republican GOP working overtime in NC for power grabs .. including giving the Republican auditor election oversight. Desperate times call for desperate measures as their state continues to attract an educated Bluer population from outside. And they don’t know whether to shit or wind their watches…
Yes, it is WRONG. The bulk of commentary should emphasize what is WRONG at all times. No one should normalize anything the right does and do their work for them by saying that's just how it is now. Too many people surrendering ahead of time. We need fighters and guardians to always point this out.
We collectively assume everyone reading our comments understands why something is wrong from schooling or experience but we rarely reinforce it with why. Meanwhile the right defines us head to toe and we forget to form a strong offense to not just counter but project our base values as fighters.
They haven't yet won, that's how. They learned this lesson the hard way throughout 2020 and 2021 as they tried to use ongoing court cases as proof the election was rigged and were subsequently thrown out of court and sanctioned.
If they win, they will have to negate ALL state wide election results, including ones that republicans won …and the presidential result! So, not sure a win is really a win for them.
The worst part is that SCOTUS has already set a precedent that it won't be involved in elections if it risks a Republican losing anything, so there's no appealing this upward.
They used the foreign disinformation campaigns employed by the country's enemies in order to divide and take control. Any sane state would have thrown them in Guantanamo.
This simply goes back to Jim Crow. Since the 1960s when the racist southern Democrats (Dixicrats) joined the racist southern Republicans, Republicans have been trying to disenfranchise Black voters. The 1965 Voting Rights Act that safeguarded the vote & kept states from this kind of BS was recently
So this could set the precedent in ALL States
W/Republican majority SC’s- no matter how many votes they lose by just have the SC toss out enough Dem votes so the Republican ends up with 1 more.

Until that math is shattered, this will continue.
But if they win, expect to see this relitigated in more states with a friendly judiciary so they can try to reverse the elections they lost.

They tried to tie up their ability to legislate and now they’re trying to tie up their ability to even assume the office to which they were elected.
That’s just a fact of life.
