As weird as it sounds, I’ve used a CPAP machine for long enough that it now feels weird and bad to try to sleep without it. Sleep apnoea got me developing a reliance on a comfort muzzle or I can’t eepy

i've had mine for five years and i haven't even tried sleeping without it. it kind of sucks, i'd really like to be able to go camping some day but my AHI was so severe
I'm very much the same; even if I'm tired enough to accidentally doze off without it, I'll just wake up every 10 minutes or so until I finally get the mask on
My face machine has to be on or my brain doesn't know it's time for bed. Also when I have fallen asleep without it I always wake up with a minor sore throat....
I /just/ tried to sleep last night without it cuz I was in a travel layover and didn't want to set it up to repack it and I both forgot how to breathe and kept startling myself awake by snoring too hard. Sleepy mask for sleepy bitches
Sleep mask and ear plugs do for sure make a big difference but I also think irs partly psychological, I started using them when I developed rly bad anxiety aprind sleep during uni and now I can't sleep without them (earplugs I can get away with tho)
I don't suffer from sleep apnea/not an expert...but that doesn't sound weird since it makes sense you don't wanna sleep without the thing helping you breathe

(wait no, that might be normal actually...)
