The main thing I dislike about the push for the Laken Riley act is that it tends to give cover for not discussing all the other crimes being committed by American citizens.

Earlier today, the Senate voted to proceed on MAGA's Dreamer Deportation Act (which they prefer to call the Laken Riley Act). Last week, only 9 Senate Democrats did the right thing.

Here's how it played out today:
✅ 35 Senate Democrats stood up and voted NO.
⚠️ 10 Senate Democrats still voted YES.

The good news: Thanks to your pressure, 26 more Senate Democrats flipped to vote NO on this bill compared to last week. That’s momentum. It proves your calls, emails, and pressure make a difference (and there were THOUSANDS of calls and emails over the last four days to Senate Dem offices).

The bad news: These 10 Democrats (Cortez Masto, Gallego, Hassan, Kelly, Ossoff, Peters, Rosen, Slotkin, Warner, Fetterman) voted YES, helping advance a cruel, unconstitutional bill. They need to feel the heat, and they need to know you're paying attention.

But... that's not all. Because if this bill passes the Senate next week—and at this point, we've got to fight like it's going to—it will head to the House. The last time this bill was in the House, 48 Democrats voted the wrong way and sided with MAGA Republicans.
