Last night I played my first game of football in about 10 years. Today my legs feel like they are on fire, but it was so good to get back out onto the pitch. No injuries and no issues from my new boots. Solid start.

Im in my early 40s now, so was not sure what to expect, once Iβd got used to the basics, receive and pass, I started to pick things up and had a few dribbles, but yeah, brain wants to do one thing but the body isnβt quite up to speed π
Letβs say positions were fluid π It felt like chaos for the first 20 mins, it was 10 v 10, but once Iβd got up to speed, I was alternating between defence and midfield.

I haven't played for 6 weeks or so but was playing weekly 11-a-side before that.
At nearly 40 it's still just as enjoyable but have to remind my brain that my legs aren't 18 anymore

Really enjoyed it though, felt like a kid again.
Felt so good once you had some fitness and sharpness back in the legs and didn't have to solely concentrate on not dying π€£
Since then though, lots of changes with work, moving home, COVID and starting a family, I just stopped.
Not dying was my goal, success! π
