It must help to contact opposition MLA's, so they can gauge the level of opposition and pass that along. Otherwise they don't have much public basis for their opposition

What's the point of writing my MLA? The Premier will just ignore them too. Plus they just got bought off via the big raise. $120k is a top salary in NS.
