Stiles deserves it, Schriner is the smartest one in the room so I guess he couldn't win a popular vote. Ford is popular because he does represent the majority of Ontario - fat, lazy, stupid but opinionated. They'll vote for him just for that - "He's like me and wants things for nothing"
I agree it should be whoever can defeat the Tory in your riding. Unfortunately, Crombie is compromised on healthcare bc she is being funded by private interests.
Get Ford the corrupt grifter out. We need to ‘protect ourselves’ & stop the Conservative’s shattering of our education, environnement & healthcare and mega wasting of our hard earned tax dollars.
In my riding, it is Liberal as has the best chance to stop Ford. I like most aspects of both platforms. I would be fine with them running as a coalition if the appropriate strategic voting goes on. #VoteFordOut. https://strategic-voting-ontario.ca/
I personally prefer Stiles, but the need to #VoteFordOut is far more important than partisan loyalties. Resources such as @commongroundon.bsky.social, @notoneseat.bsky.social & @coopr84canada.bsky.social can help on that front. #ONpoli
Of course. I live in University Rosedale which has an excellent NDP MPP. That and other Downtown Toronto ridings almost never vote PC. It's why I focused my canvassing efforts for the Liberals in Eglinton Lawrence which the PC's won by 500 votes & the NDP candidate dropped out.
The campaign team for the PC candidate one riding over, kept putting up his signs in Ottawa Centre. They put them in the snowbanks...then the city came along with he snow grinder and mangled 'em. :-)
I worked with Joel Harden on some active transportation matter and agree he's great. Just hope for his sake Mark Carney doesn't choose Ottawa Centre to run.
Oh, that would put a fly in the ointment. If Carney wins the leadership, it could be far too tempting for some to have their MP also be the Prime Minister. That doesn't happen everyday.
Crombie because of a costed plan to reverse coming doctor shortage and the ability to win enough ridings to reduce Ford to a minority or defeat him outright. NDP can claim neither.

Liberals should've elected Nate
I'm in Ottawa Centre, which is currently NDP and whose NDP candidate should have been our mayor. Our current NDP MPP is trying his hand federally.
This riding typically goes NDP or Liberal; only been PC once in 50 years.
