I've been ordering Canadiano coffee and breakfasts in Mexico since this started. It's not listed as this on the menu, but the Mexican servers get it immediately, giggle at the request, and loudly announce (with a huge smile) the arrival of the "Canadiano" requests at our table. β€οΈ Mexico!
The best part of this is that it's called Americano because Italians find the whole idea of adding water to espresso completely incomprehensible - "American coffee", kind of like "British sausage", something that no connoisseur would consume if it were the last thing available.

I have a theory about Americans and coffee, actually.
Americans like the *idea* of coffee, but they don't like coffee. They drink it piss-weak, or they pour syrupy shit in it, or they add fake "creamer", or... well, anything other than drink proper coffee as God herself handed it down to us.
