I grew up sharing what little we had. I have carried that practice on.
It does not have to be through a food bank. Invited someone in need to dinner. Buy someone's groceries in line. Buy an extra Good Food Box. Etc.
I volunteer for a local food bank in Toronto (Etobicoke) and we had 5500 people use our services last month. We also offer other services besides being a food bank. This includes mothers with newborns, seniors, clothes, outreach even to the downtown core.
Hello, Anyone seen Doug Ford lately? He only cares about puffing out his chest and bragging about building highways like that will feed us, house us or take care of our health or education.
