I don’t read any of them since they reduced their size by 2/3 and stuffed themselves with advertising AND more than doubled the price. Yah, it’s been a while.
Newer to 🇨🇦. does CBCNN feed their news from CNN? Or is that a coincidence bc CBC reporting is also ridiculously biased and unwatchable for accurate news also.
They are still ridiculously biased in their reporting. All of those other tags posted in the OP are def propagandist. But I’m concerned CBC is also shifting right.
Not sure what you mean. Remember my lived exp is different as a new immigrant and as an American. I can SEE/FEEL the shift in media here that happened in 2016 in the States. I moved here in ‘22. So I’m still newer.
Yeah I understand CBC might not mean the same thing to you as a newcomer. For myself, and a lot of people, CBC isn't "just" a news channel, it's part of our history and our identity as Canadians and imo even with it's problems it's worth preserving and trying to improve
I agree they sometimes fall into "both sides-ing", especially in the main CBC News reporting. And in-depth analysis and fact-checking is lacking. I still think they're the best large media outlet we have and some of their other stuff like their podcasts are really good
Ty again. Still trying to wrap my head around media here. NPR, the American publicly funded media has done the same thing as well. feel like I’m in a 2016 time capsule here and folks just don’t realize it. I already lived the nightmare once. I want ANyThInG but that for my new home!
I totally know what you mean and I fear the same thing. People trying to sane-wash Poilievre is like a replay of 2016. Canada does tend to have a pattern of following the States, just 5-10 years later and a more boring version. I really hope we can break that pattern in the upcoming election
