He didn’t patent it as he wanted it to be affordable for everyone.

Wasn't vaccinated against whooping cough because my sister reacted badly to it, so it was high risk for me. I got whooping cough when I was 8, not so dangerous but I was still pretty ill. Needless to say my sister never caught it because she'd been vaccinated, proof Vaccines work.

What upsets me is people also now do this with their animals. The thought of thousands of them suffering pain because their people believe ‘dr’ nobody on FB or X saying they’ll die if they use this or that. They have no choice 😔

Absolutely! Who has now seen the effects of polio, tetanus etc? Sadly have had some knowledge more recently of measles, and pertussis is definitely still with us, but vaccines definitely save lives.

As someone who works in clinical research and goes into schools to explain my job (when I can) I think a part of it is not understanding how they “make you immune” ie how they work . How the immune system works. When you explain this I think most people realise how amazing they are

Old enough to remember getting the polio, tetanus, diphtheria and whooping cough vax. But many of us still got measles, rubella and mumps. So grateful for every subsequent vaccination.

As a GP I have thankfully never seen a case of polio and I hope to God I never do..

Many of these illnesses that plagued our forefathers are no longer things we have to experience because of good vaccination programmes.

Vaccines work and it makes me angry/ sad/ scared where we are at now 😔
