You’ve also not included the likes of Ferguson, who we couldn’t even go in for *because* we made a mess of the GK and FWD acquisitions in the summer. A purely compounding error that we unnecessarily created. What the hell is Neto even for.

It’s overall massively more good than bad. We’ve just mad a total bollocks of it this season, combined with some really bad luck that has compounded the issue.
Ha we aren’t even in “really bad luck” territory. We are in “the absolute worst luck that nobody with any sane mind would subject themselves to thinking about, even those in the most powerful positions at big clubs”.
This season has been *astoundingly*, historically bad.
Is it bad luck when the guy who plays every single game and runs an incredible amount gets a muscle injury? Feel free to take that for either Havertz or Saka, both played in the summer too. Or when injury-prone Jesus gets injured?
I think these types of injuries are fodder for confirmation bias.
I also don’t want anyone to think I am policing their emotions. I get why people are angry and they are entitled to anger - whether at club or otherwise.
I guess it's the semantics of it then really for me - I don't find it to be astounding or historic, tbh to me it's more (with the January inaction specifically) that we gambled on some good luck and we've lost big time.
Obviously a bunch of unlucky things have also happened, but generally I think that's just sort of the game and it happens sometimes, like City losing the one player they cannot replace and it breaking the whole team, or the year Liverpool lost all their centre-backs.
It’s all clearly on the unlucky end of the spectrum of things that could have happened. But most of that luck had accrued before the window closed. We knew where we were. We knew how laboured Kai looked. And we did nothing. That’s not luck, luck doesn’t even come into it.
We made some gambles this season and it’s safe to say not many have paid out.
Sterling, Jesus form, injuries, Havertz shifting to be replaced with by (who still doesn’t play). They are all reasonable bets but way too risky to rely on. The only one that’s come off is Nwaneri.
You could easily cancel netos loan considering we are out of both cups. Far more likely to need another forward than a back up GK (who probably isn't that much better than one of our youths)
They weren’t but that’s the point being made above. If we hadn’t needed last minute loans for Neto and Sterling through better planning in the summer the loan slots would be available
Love this interaction, completely rational and reasoned working out of a slight misunderstanding. Would have devolved into a slagging match on Twitter immediately.

I just feel less of that.
Thats like running across a bull in red and saying it was unlucky because you got 2/3rds to the exit before getting nailed.
