This is sort of what is wanted, but we do not measure competition of a single species, in the presence of all others. It is notoriously difficult to measure effect of A and B in the presence of A B C D E, as C D E could all be having an impact on B, and indirect interactions are happening too.

You could get a supernatant of community A B C D E and grow A and B in that. That would give you a competition estimate in media used by the whole community. You could measure all combinations of species and use a framework to estimate something close to- but not exactly - what you want...

Finally you could use inserts into well plates which have membranes that allow nutrients to pass through, but not bacteria, and have A and B in one bit, and C D E in the other. An example is here: https://www.int-res.com/abstracts/meps/v339/p83-92/

But to summarise I think it is a tricky, complicated thing to do. How we define interactions in microbiology has always been a bit weird. For example, how relatable our pairwise competition assays in fresh media are to communities under long-term culture.
