Does anyone else wonder how it was so easy for Musk and his minions to just walk in and take control of a government agency? Nobody questioned his authority to do that? Nobody made a call to a supervisor to get approval? Did Nobody hit a "failsafe" button to block access?
The general public has no idea how easy it was. We don't know if people chained themselves to desks or removed hard drives. All we hear is that they are in and taking charge. They aren't going to mention any opposition.
I expect they met with some resistance but we just don't know. It seems a lot of people think entire departments just stepped aside and made tea for them while they raped the computers.
The Trump Admin *wants* them to, so they have the backing of the executive branch, congressional Republicans, as well as the right wing media are *all* supportive. They have recently announced that the purge of people who are not MAGA will become involuntary and buildings will be sold involuntary
I certainly do not disagree with you but there are individual circumstances where a fed
employee feels they cannot afford to resist - I admire the courage of those who do
Government employees should be given free access to outside attorneys that they can contact in the event they are asked to do something that appears illegitimate. We must resist, but it is a lot to expect of employees that may not have the ability to defend themselves and need employment.
That is not practical for the average citizen. Who is going to bail them out of jail and pay for legal representation. It sounds good in theory but reality bites.

For those of not sitting behind a desk and writing about it afterwards, the consequences would be more than being crucified by Times New Roman.
