Relationships & human connection is oft riddled with inefficient pathways. We scribble all over each other in the pursuit of seeing and being seen. AI seeks to make inefficient things more efficient (& convenient). But that’s not how emotional and meaningful connections work.
There are several branches of this tree, but Qs I have that are not easily measured: how does the need for “efficiency” (AI’s general promise) disrupt the emotional work of making connections with others? When we don’t practice the emotional work regularly because AI’s impact, what happens?
