Freedom of choice is a great thing, but show me a car company CEO who doesn't have highly dubious personal life/political views/business practices/etc.
Disclaimer: I own (and love) a Tesla, and would buy again. But I do think Musks current political antics are very unhelpful.

Musk is a BS artist. The cult members fail to realise is that he didn't start Tesla. He invested after a year & only took control years later. He 'forced' the actual founders to sell him the title 'founder' as part of the initial investment. He's a genius at building a cult & meme stocks. That's it.
