It wasn't a sea shanty, but there was a great video of a guy playing an instrument I'd never seen for his cat, and people kept doing tiktok duets or whatever until it turned into a tom waits song. I miss that video specifically

Idk why others stopped, but I got really into shanties before Wellerman went viral and I still love em.
My favourite group is The Dreadnoughts, but there's many awesome shanty choirs all over the world doing great stuff

I'm legitimately debating seeing if the karaoke program my semi -local place uses has the Mingulay Boat Song to relive this

I don't have the range for wellerman

And can't remember any of the other ones (Drunken Sailor doesn't count cause SO many verse variations)
