the camera/controls/combat is a little wonky bc dungeon crawlers work better with slow attrition of your resources. i think with those ideas out of the equation you end up with dodge roll disneyland.

this tracks. it would be cool if, after elden ring nightreign, they tried making a slower paced game again to begin pushing back in the other direction
i'm lucky that i came to the souls series as a punch-out!! fan, so the dodge roll disneylands (dark souls 3 especially) do really click with me
that would be cool! but I think it's unlikely they'll return to older ideas - they're a very 'tech is the future' kind of company at the core, so the next game will probably be battle royale or something like skyrim with elden ring mechanics and limited mmo-esque stuff
