Meanwhile in Wales, academics at Cardiff University warned the country’s HE landscape could be “devastated” by plans to cut 400 FTE staff, and that course closures mean some courses will cease to exist in Wales. I spoke to #UCU members and academics 🎤

Finally, skills minister Jacqui Smith has claimed that “unproductive competition” is hindering the UK’s universities, but reiterated that higher education institutions will not receive further government support amid a mounting financial crisis 🙅💰
