Top-line approval numbers are getting the press but the individual responses here are interesting. Americans overwhelmingly think Trump’s policies will make them worse off yet are cutting him slack in approvals. Doesn’t seem sustainable.

Americans are generally optimistic about a president at the start of their term. They want to think Trump is doing a good job, even though deep down they know it’s probably not going to go well. I expect approvals will mirror reality in the months ahead.
They’re not as plugged into the news as we are and don’t know the extent of what’s going on. It’s starting to break through but most people have no idea about USAID, BigBalls, or the Treasury payment system.
This is why stove-touching is important. It’s very easy to tune out to this stuff if it doesn’t affect you. Once it does, these things start to get more attention.
Also interesting, his numbers are lowest among Boomers and Millennials, highest among Xers and Zoomers. I suspect it’s the same Zoomer-men phenomenon we saw during the election. Big challenge will be pushing that down.

Are we really to the point of "nothing really matters it's all vibes"?
The sheet amount of chaos should make some question.
