This makes my morning😁
Couldn't happen to a more deserving administration
Sorry for the docs, researchers, staff, & patients, etc., but a long-overdue reckoning for a bilgefilled admin
A rare upside to otherwise horrific actions
One major cost they help defray is rent/utilities. Let’s say I’m running a company with branches in multiple cities. To attract the best employees, let’s say I put a cost of living subsidy in the benefits package.
No it wouldn’t. I’d need to factor in local costs of living if I want the benefits to be equal. Likewise not all lab space has the same rent. The places with the best…
Also you need indirect costs for safety regs. You don’t want radioactive material unaccounted for. You don’t want drugs tested on people without informed consent. These costs will very with the type of science done. Institutions negotiate indirect costs
You can tell the electric company that you’re treating children with cancer, and they’ll say “That’s nice, but you still need to pay this month’s bill.”
Nice things aren’t free. The fact that many cancers or HIV are no longer an automatic death sentence….
But Noooooo...
I volunteer as tributary!
