Four years ago for me. I found a box of disks and had to load them up to see what was on them. Luckily, there’s external drives around that enable this. I’ve still got both the drive and disks.

I had to buy a separate floppy disk for each chapter of my PhD thesis, and in 1992 it took three days to print it out, one disk at a time, on a dot matrix printer for submission.

I had to buy a USB floppy drive to pull a license key off a floppy for some calibration hw within the last 4 years.

Last month. I keep a few old PCs like the giant nerd that I am. Play retro games on DOS & Win 95. I also know a large machinery manufacturer that lost their decrypt code for an old NT4.0 that generates license codes. Transfer the generated licenses to the config plant by floppy.
