Why don’t you do a little Googling on the effectiveness of general strikes in modern America, and then we can have a conversation. I’m not opposed to a general strike, but it is less effective here—under current labor laws—than in other places or in other times in U.S. history. (1/4)
Do you understand what happens when someone is unemployed here? The government doesn’t take care of you or your family. Your healthcare is gone. When you miss one month’s rent, the landlord can evict you, and the government doesn’t house you. All I’m saying is, we are getting our shit together,(2/4)

our elected representatives with, not that workers are joining unions. Unions aren’t a given, here. Employers can fire people for even joining one. If we don’t go to work, because we are protesting for a few weeks, we don’t get paid for the days missed. Bottom line: WE ARE WORKING ON IT. (4/4)
