plus unlike Luke Skywalker in TLJ there is never a moment when Indy himself rises to become his best self and return in all his glory. He wanted to die and be left behind in the past, and had to be forced out of his decision rather than choose it himself
LS gets nowhere close to his best. He’s shamed and forced into helping at all, still doesn’t actually show up, deceiving everyone-including Leia-does as little as possible to just let them escape with their lives, and dies in the middle of it. As an OT era fan, not surprising why that film is 👎.
While that’s true, I don’t want my childhood heroes to be defeated, deflated and depressed. We have real life for that crap. The escape from reality is more important than showing that completely fictional characters exist exactly like in reality; still makes no sense to me. 🤷♂️
