though I guess on the other hand Andor isn't gunning for a season 3, so it ultimately doesn't matter if s2 gets as much sustained buzz as s1 did. plus I get the sense that they're moving away from star wars TV in general

you would think they would want to drive the conversation though - if they had done this for Season 1, you would have just jumped into the next episode after “No more than 12”

exactly, like having that be the cliffhanger bomb and then waiting a whole week for the resolution? that's what TV is supposed to be! just so weird. who knows if this is Gilroy or LFL's doing though

at this point, just cut them as 100 minute movies, release them every month. I do not understand their approach to making, marketing, and releasing anything over there any more.

exactly, like just go the BBC Sherlock route and make 3-4 episodes that are 90 minutes each.

A very popular and successful model to follow!

My guess is that the reason they do this is probably some arcane tax reason. You can write off 12 episodes of television, as opposed to not having a classification for a Sherlock type episodic model.

going back to my point about how it seems like star wars is trying to pivot away from TV: this feels as though they're just trying to quickly finish any remaining TV shows so they can go back to focusing on movies. which, fine, but weird vibes.
