Another thing I hate is how they all call the story a tutorial. MH is a mechanically dense game. It doesn't matter if you're a seasoned player, the game needs to have a sense of progression, build up, excitement. Do they just want to start from High Rank? What kind of an experience is that?

The story wasn't bad, in my opinion, but I get what you mean. Someone I play with acts like the story was a personal affront to his delicate sensibilities and like... I don't get it. The game is a ton of fun and the world feels lush and alive. Who cares if the story isn't an Epic?
