Labour could tax the super-rich to end poverty, build social housing and fix our NHS.
They are choosing to go after the worst-off instead.
For a while, many people didn’t know what this government stood for. They do now: tough choices for the poor, endless money for war.

Any day now, and I think it's gonna be soon, Starmer's gonna get what's coming to him.
It’s a tough sell I’ll grant you.

They are genuinely impossible to separate at a policy level from the Tories. Giving people no hope or alternative to their hardships only opens the door to far right populists and grifters.
If you'd put the country's interests before your own & argued the case for Remain strongly, there'd be no Brexit, you'd have been PM & the UK & the poor would now be so much better off.
Only yourself to blame. Tragic flaw.
I do like Corbyn but he had a tragic flaw.
Don't like Starmer.
Sir man of the people is a dead giveaway.🙋♂️
His tragic flaw was also not arguing the Remain case strongly enough, & standing up to the bullies on the Far Right.
All for perceived short term political gain instead of the national interest.
A plague on both your houses!

We need to spend the amount that we believe will deter further aggression in mainland Europe along with our allies in Europe.
This means increasing the amount we do spend
Either we believe that it's worth resisting the imposition of a Russian security architecture over the heads of eastern Europe or we don't. I'm not an imperialist, so I want to resist that.
And you don't care who suffers to pay for military expansion? After all, overseas aid is just for foreigners, and they're starving and dying out of sight, so who cares? And benefits - well, they mostly go to scroungers, don't they?
I disagree with cutting welfare and I disagree with cutting overseas aid, I also disagree with not increasing defence spending.
- there is a limited amount of money in a flat currency
- that we are at war
- that those with nothing should pay for this (imagined) war
- that anyone that tries to protect the poor and vulnerable doesn’t want to live in a safe country
🤷🏻♀️
I believe we are in a pre-war state that could escalate unless we deter further aggression in Europe.
I don't think those with nothing should pay for this and your last comment.
Do you believe I've misinterpreted Corbyn? Do you think he is pro increasing defence spending?
He said “hard choices for the poor, endless money for war”
Which bit says that there shouldn’t be money spent on defence?
Annalise Dodds resigned and made a similar statement. Because it’s about what’s being cut to fund the spend
Really want a properly proportional system so I can vote positively not negatively.
They're tinkering at the edges of taxing the wealthy while going for the throat for the poorest of us
But given the unprecedented, since WW2, gap between the top 10% and the bottom 10% VAT on private schooling is neiter here not there.
It is the bottom 10% who will bear the brunt of their policies.
That's all I'm saying.
You all act like it's 2005.
And we won’t mention them caving in to the Non-Doms
With this Labour party there is always a cop out for the rich, but the vulnerable have to suffer
The less well off are being clobbered left right and centre
I would rather resist Russia as part of a union of Social Democracies acting in the best interests of the people of Europe and the world but either way, Russia must be resisted
Ukraine is not Iraq. We are not the aggressors here and we must now support Ukraine against both Russia and the USA
With that footnote added, I completely agree with this
