Like Dan Fornace, I played Sonic all across Smash games. It's not surprising, that Sonic hasn't been the most entertaining character to fight or go up against across Smash, and with Rivals of Aether 2, it's clear that it's made by people who CARE about the game, yhe detail they put in is SICK. Now of course, this can obviously be rooted out by the future of Rivals 2, with workshop characters, but I do think there's benefits of Aether Studios to have a character this big in their game. A lot of attention and eyes will be on it with a gaming icon like him. Maybe not for SSBU fans but- (2/6)

With Sonic being an animal, he already fits the aesthetic really well. With his speed, he's obviously rooted to be summon the power of air. On top of that, his moveset can be tweaked to not only trace back to his games, but also include the "sauce" that Rivals 2 has. (3/6)

In all honesty, I just believe that with how much Aether Studios treated other guest characters like Shovel Knight and Ori, I would just LOVE to see what they'd do with Sonic. The detail that these two characters had always had me thinking about how they'd do others guest characters in Rivals. (4/6)

It's also VERY early. The development team has said there are no planned guest characters for Rivals 2, and an inclusion like Sonic's could open INSANE flood gates, but I just want to see Sonic in a game where the developers really care about paying homage to characters' origins. (5/6)
