But poverty is the main factor PWD who are requesting MAID. I understand they won’t get approved based on poverty alone. But they could say it’s their disability when in actuality it’s living in poverty that they’re trying to escape from

The question is why are impoverished disabled people choosing to die when they don’t really WANT TO? They aren’t trying to escape life due to their disabilities! They’re trying to escape gvt imposed legislated poverty.

The task of finding an assisted suicide in 2000 was monumental

Now it's offered freely everywhere

My family broke during the fight

Terence, thank you for all of your efforts. They are appreciated by many. However, it is not offered freely everywhere. Earlier this year, my mother was receiving palliative care and then home hospice care. We inquired about MAID and were told the paperwork would take too long.

MAID is great but, we still need alternatives to it like end of life care at home and not in some for profit LTC place. Comprehensive at home end of life hospice care. The U.S. does it and it's all paid for by Medicaid and Medicare. I don't want to "pick a day"

I live in Ontario. My mother did get end-of-life hospice care at home. However, it requires the family to be involved because caregivers are not available 24/7.
