Military purchases that do not go to the US are the only option for Canada. And, for protecting the Arctic, it makes more sense to partner with other northern countries.

Good, let's join the EU common market too, give Canadians and Europeans better trade, employment, and tourism opportunities now that we have a hostile foreign government as neighbours. Enact stronger border policies for Americans. Want to visit? Now you need a visa.

Excellent suggestion - Europe will need to change their constitution to admit us, and I hope they get started. The EU has historically been slow and bureaucratic- neither of which are strengths in our new reality.
