I at first thought both as well but for two things: 1) he could get pulled into MI morass and be lost in Senate politics for a year before having to campaign his second year and 2) we need him to continue as “voice of choice” speaking to counter Trump’s disruption and a moral alternative vision.

This is what I've been thinking, unfortunately. I definitely want great people in our government, but I don't want to lose and get more of this garbage because so so many Americans are haters/bigots/racists/misogynistic cretins.
