Tourism to #Montana Glacier National Park created $5.5 million to the local economy in 2024. The park was all set to get more revenue this year with increased campground fees but all of that is in danger with doge cuts.

Can you imagine trying to manage Glacier with even less staff than they already have? It felt understaffed last time I went up there 2 years ago.
They'd have to massively reduce the number of visitors allowed in per day.
That may be a plus for wear and tear on the park but it would devastate the economy up north. I haven’t been there since 2019 but I consider it the jewel of Montana.
Growing up nearer there, we went almost every summer at least once, sometimes more if family came to town. Or if going to Canada, it was obviously the more scenic route to get to the border.
We went up a couple of years ago cause it had been over 20 years since we'd gone. It is amazing, as always.
