Grant's entitled to his opinion, but like Ryan Bridge's take on the Covid-19 inquiry's report, it's an inaccurate, and misleading presentation. Additionally, it's concerning that Stuff's journalism offers little to no counter to misleading, & harmful presentations by op-ed columnists. If Grant's given the space to share his opinion, the antidote should be stronger 'Analysis' by Stuff. Key words, phrases, & names associated with the inquiry, & the report once released indicate very few articles by Stuff framing it, & just one presenting key aspects of the 700+ page main report. The issue then isn't just a misleading op-ed. It's a failure of journalism, with influence ceded to partial opinions over more robust coverage of the Covid-19 report. Bizarrely, Stuff's own award-winning investigative journalism isn't provided as critical context against Prof Blakely's comments.
