MP Seymour's contribution to increase in virulent, & very violent anti-Māori racism alongside vehement rejection of the Treaty is already documented. Today's study of comments no different. But worryingly, now near impossible to distinguish ACT's partisan rhetoric from white supremacist ideologues.

Studied comments against an interview with Don Brash on The Platform, & those against a video by a well-known Pākehā anti-Māori campaigner, defined for years by dangerous speech instigating hate, & saying a "civil war" is imminent with Māori taking over New Zealand. All responded to Mon's sessions.

I notice the platform makes record views that mention anything to do with Maori in the title. The audience have become obsessed with denigrating and hating. On the real issues that affect the wider nation very few views in comparison. Maori are Plunkets bread and butter now.

True, but not only because of TPB - as someone who has studied nearly all their public programming from Day 1. TPB has been accelerant for rabid audience engagement across all SM platforms in general. Their embrace of it follows a history of platforming anti-Māori racism, through guests invited too.

Impossible to distinguish between what ACT partisans, & those supporting the TPB say against Māori on the party's official YouTube, & Facebook accounts (responding to MP Seymour), the comments responding to Brash/Plunket interview, & replies to the leading white supremacist. Therein lies the rub.

Honestly don't even know WTH some of these abusive, denigrating terms mean, but normalisation, & expansion of this violative rhetoric on Facebook, Twitter/X, & YouTube now far exceeds what till 2022 was far more limited to Telegram discourse/ecologies. That's what TPB's done - beyond just a bill.

It's enabled dehumanising, denigrating anti-Māori discourse to expand, & emerge from darker corners of Telegram to mainstream SM platforms that today also allow this discourse to flourish. For e.g., 1.5k+ comments studied against a wāhine Māori entrepreneur featured same virulent, violent rhetoric.

To wit, MP Seymour's TPB has corrupted the framing of, attitudes towards, & perceptions of Māori at scale. It's also facilitated the heightened targeting of community, culture, & language around any issue. All Māori are dehumanised. All things Māori are denigrated. This discourse will outlast Bill.
