If I lived in these townhomes I simply wouldn’t try to block hundreds of new homes for being “out of scale for the neighborhood” but that’s exactly what some people are doing. https://moco360.media/2024/07/25/plans-for-30-story-building-on-silver-springs-tastee-diner-site-move-ahead/

Is this the same Ramsey Ave between Georgia and Colesville?
Is this the same set of townhouses surrounded *by other tall buildings* and basically a block from Silver Spring Metro?
Buy a place smack in the middle of [checks notes] Silver F-ing Spring and expecting no new buildings to be built nearby???
Yeah, it does feel a little ridiculous to be blocking new buildings in Silver Spring or near the Takoma Metro.
But not criticizing—I think those townhouses are great! And a big part of that is so close to everything. More people living nearby will encourage even more stuff to be literal steps away!
I live across from a motel, it has its ups and downs, it’s fine, it’s part of life here
