That, and the majority of CEOs and such are men, which skews the ratio significantly.

I absolutely support equal pay. But let’s be clear on one thing: If companies were ACTUALLY able to get away with paying women 25% less, there wouldn’t be any men in the workforce at all.

I work at a pharma company, the majority of ppl are women, and most people have doctorates. No one is getting paid more for being a man. Yes there might be discrimination at the highest levels or business and entertainment but even those women make more than 99% of Americans. Dems are out of touch

When I read that, it says it adjusts for disparities like differences in education, experience, etc.

It’s a simple regression analysis.

It adjusts to see the true wage gap.

I disagree. Framing this as an issue of discrimination just inflames the culture wars. Instead of paying public supported female dominated jobs more we go on a witch hunt for nonexistent discrimination. And young men can see right through the doublespeak, and they conclude Dems don’t care about them

And yes, while I definitely think there is explicit and implicit gender discrimination still in the workplace, it does not have nearly the effect on incomes that it used to.

The changes needed now are more social than they are political, and that takes time.

Well, I definitely understand the risks you’re describing, and I definitely think there are about 1000 issues that are more pressing than gender pay equity right now, but I don’t like the idea that some Democrats are pushing in involving completely abandoning all truly progressive social issues.
