We LOVE Betty MacDonald!
Years ago, while discussing 'dream projects' with Heather Henderson, she mentioned that she had always wanted to voice The Egg and I. We were a fairly new company at that time, & the literary estate was reluctant to give us the rights.

The agency, Brandt & Hochman Literary Agents, was established in 1913 & had seen a lot of companies come & go! We were persistent, though. It took us about 2.5 years to convince them to give us a go, but in 2015, we published The Egg and I, with Heather Henderson co-producing.

We didn't stop there.

The Plague and I is Betty's next memoir. It recounts her stay in Firlands tuberculosis sanitarium with wry wit.

Kimi in this memoir is the writer Monica Sone. MacDonald helped launch Sone’s writing career and appears as “Chris” in Sone’s book Nisei Daughter.

Betty next wrote Anybody Can Do Anything. In terms of chronology, it takes us back before "The Egg and I" recounting her family's experiences in Seattle during the great depression.
