It’s not so much that we “hate” Americans (people need to be considered individually not as generalizations), but we have fundamental differences and unique histories. Canadians genuinely interested in becoming American can pursue that course and many have. 1/2

No worries. Agree many have strong anti-American feelings, been around for decades, dating back to Vietnam etc. in my lifetime but best to keep the temperature down and not “trigger” (maybe an overused term) folks. Grew up (and still do) watching and enjoying American movies, tv, music, which 1/x

Recent polls here show maybe 12-16% of Canadians like the idea of joining the U.S. Maybe folks who couldn’t get a green card and see that as a shortcut… 2/x
