The sad part is this is far from the first time conservatives have called all of us "radical drug advocates" for pushing evidence based approaches and listening to scientific experts.

It's not totally normal behaviour in that context, It's not totally creepy either. This is where a lack of nuance hurts.

Cons want to make their extreme positions look normal so they call everything else radical.

The whole interaction was weird, just like one would be if say a person lay in wait to gotcha another person who was announcing their support for another person that was freaking the Conservative party out because he's everything Polievre ain't.
