Many oil patch workers live outside the province. This will be complicated.
National Parks are either closed or defunded.
Alberta criminals who are in federal prisons in other provinces get sent to Alberta.
All Canadian passports with Alberta address' become invalid
No seat at th United Nations.

No Coast Guard, no Port Authority (no coast, no port, Oh well
Albertan separatists always seem to think that they operate in a vacuum.
They fail to realize that separation would give BC, Jasper and Banff. They also fail to realize that all of the pipelines running through BC would be shut off until Alberta negotiates a transit permit.
the province they would be ransoming is BC, which would put BC in the awkward position of having to ransom Alberta. BC also holds almost all of the cards because we control the ports.
The fact we have no water anywhere to transport goods, shows how dumb conservatives are that agree with this!. Been here 40+ years, so tired of this BS
Good concise info here, but I'd like to see an updated version. This assumes Albertan independence. How would the situation change if Alberta joined the US?
Also, it seems these days, just because a decision would be foolish and self-destructive, doesn't mean folks'll decide against it.
True just look at the USA.
Joining the USA would not change anything Canada would still recover back everything that belongs to the Feds plus the Natives also

Personally, I'm loving it.

The list goes on and on. It's an insanely complicated process that I doubt any of them actually comprehend.
The one fall back they have is "ransoming the rest of Canada" not realizing that
It would be a shit show.

I just want to understand all the angles, so I'm not blindsided if the Canadian map looks different in the near future.
As an Ontarian, I probably have an Alberta blindspot.
