European Jews were immigrating to the region before the British Mandate, they just wanted to keep the Jewish population at 1/7th the total population (or below) to maintain their majority. No Jews came as colonizers, you can't colonize somewhere you're indigenous to.
It was a relative trickle before 1917.
And there is no definition of indigeneity that applies to European Jews but not to Palestinians whose families had been living in Palestine/Canaan for thousands of years, including during the time of the Jewish kingdoms. (1/2)
Colonization is a process where one group of people seizes another group’s territory and establishes their own society, excluding or exploiting the original inhabitants. Again, Palestinians are also descended from ancient Canaanites and Judeans. “Arab” is a cultural group more than an ethnicity. (2)
Zionists came to Palestine as proud colonizers, they made no secret of this.
I’m just going to leave this here; we’re talking in circles and nothing else needs to be said.
