Us Aussies have a very live and let live approach to our native animals. People who were victims of shark attacks will just go "Yeah nah, it was his ocean and I was swimming in it eh?"

Not all of us. Bogans still kill things for fun. 90% of dogs in the RSPCA shelters are crossed pig dog breeds because we have more than our fair share of negligent savages. Tons of bearded trash think a fun weekend is going out to kill roos.
Remember me back home in Edmonton my local hospital had to close down a rooftop garden for a season because a Canada Goose made her nest their. Was her patio now.
I knew someone bitten by a shark in Aus (not that badly) and he said he'd been spearfishing and the shark went for a bleeding fish he was taking back on a short line "which was bloody stupid of me, he was just after a quick feed, hope he enjoyed it."
My idiot brother (living in Darwin) pulled a 1.8 metre reef shark into his tinny, the shark wasn’t properly dead, had enough life in it to give my brother a gash in his leg requiring 70+ stitches….he lost 2 litres of (alcohol soaked) blood …..
Bob Katter was an extremely right wing politician by Australian standards but even he thought imported US cultural panics were a load of bullshit. Unlike crocs.
the majority of the bitey stuff is easily avoided. Don't poke around in dark dry places and you'll avoid most snakes and spiders. And the snakes prefer to avoid you anyway. The crocs are all in the north where nobody lives. Other nations have bears, wolves, rabies, armed hillbillies, etc.

He’s only just turned 70 so there’s time for an encounter with a croc….

Your native species, however, make me want to admire Australians from afar.
