Gov. Kelly (D) in KS has prided herself in fully funding schools throughout her tenure, and Kansas had a history of actually being progressive, though it's definitely more moderate, at best, now.

I mean, the problem is the blow is going to be blunted by block grants from HHS to red states to hide the shit. People will only find out in drips as niche services only government can fund disappear. And unfortunately that'll be such small communities (relatively) that people will ignore.

I have zero confidence this admin has the necessary savvy to rebuild what they seem hell bent on breaking. And the biggest issue they are going to run into is scale. It's one thing to send money to a single segregation academy. It's entirely another to serve a fraction of the 1200 ISDs in TX.

That includes positions (PEOPLE) in districts. Ask any principal or district employee, they can tell you precisely how many of their staff positions are paid for explicitly with federal funds. No funds, no people.
