And you don’t have to be 100% perfect! I’ve been boycotting Amazon to the extent possible since 2006 (when I realized what they were doing to the local bookstore scene). I’m out there loud and proud for #IndieBookstoreDay every year. Yet did I remember to preorder for #OnyxStorm? Ha.

If you make it habit, it gets easier. You learn which local stores have the things most people get on Amazon (hello hardware store!), you learn which impulse items you can live without, you learn to order in advance from a local bookstore, you learn the second hand market.
