Duke Jordan was born on this day April 1, 1922 in Brooklyn. In the late-1940s the pianist was a member of Charlie Parker's quintet along with Miles Davis & in 1960 he recorded his sole Blue Note album as a leader "Flight to Jordan": https://bluenote.lnk.to/DukeJordan-FlightTojordan
