Well said, i know i'm a dteamer but would love to have go at fa cup and that will just not happen under dyche. Also dreading the new owners thinking southgate would be box office but can see and dread it happening. Never want another career CB as a manager ever again

Great opening post. Been saying for sometime when we pick a new manager we'd need to examine his football philosophy, and be clear that he can get the squad playing to his style now, knowing that we start a massive rebuilding job in the summer where he can shape the side for years to come.

Thelwell has a decent enough hit rate in bringing in players, not perfect, but certainly more than enough quality brought in for our current manager to work with... which brings me to the point of this thread, my first utterances on bluesky...3/

Dyche has been with us long enough. In fairness, he kept us up that first season he arrived, but how much of that was down to him, and how much was 'new manager bounce' is debatable. Last season, everyone agrees, was a job well done. Well, almost everyone. 4/

Add to that, uninspiring often completely predictable patterns of play, a reluctance to commit players to attacks, and an over-reliance on set pieces. Yes, we had the second best defence in the PL, and well done to all involved. But football is about scoring goals. Where were the goals? 6/

Where are the goals? This season, we are even more turgid, Dyche seems fully entrenched in Burnley survival mode for some reason. This squad is by far the best bunch of players he's ever managed, but he can't manage them. He's one dimensional, always has been, and is now fully exposed as such. 7/
