The internet, and indeed all of our technological world, is built on the backbone of a hundred OSS projects. Small tools, useful libraries, cute projects solving specific problems that irked the authors, or were just interesting at the time. I don't think it's their fault

Ralph Merkle invented Merkle trees in the 70s because he wanted secure digital signatures, it's not his fault someone built a blockchain on their back to scam people with ape pictures.
