Might be hammy, but not only do I find them beautiful, to me they sorta represent free expression, confidence, and curiosity. Individually they can have their own unique look and personality, and I think that's pretty neat~! ^_^

For me is two things:
1.- Their freedom and their "That can't stop me because I can't read" attitude.
2.- Their curves, but is not about their body curves but the ones they make with their whole body while swimming. You can draw them on a perfect "S" shape and it feels just right.

That they can travel so freely in such an alien environment. I could spend all day just sitting next to a mermaid on the beach listening to her tell me about all the weird fish she's seen.

I feel like there's a certain grace to their motions. Its something that you can only notice to someone with fins that isn't the same when they have legs

Big ups to those who swim and dive around in those tails, but just imagine what it'd be like to not have to worry about air or the bends with the natural and supreme grace of motion with an actual tail as one does on land with legs.
