How will you ensure the algorithm doesn’t exclude women and BIPOC cyclists given what white, male-created algorithms tend to do? This actually has historic context as male-created bike communities as early as the 1800’s strategically were by/for white men.

The algorithm is based on known cycling races, teams and riders primarily. We work to maintain a database of both men’s and women’s races, teams and riders. Unfortunately many algorithms are biased, but we are doing our best not to add to that

We recently updated our algorithm to match far more posts from across the bluesky network. This has resulted in a lot more false positives in the last few days. We are currently in the process of pruning the algorithm to resolve those. It might take a second, but it will result in a much better feed

We will soon be bringing more services online to follow professional cycling around here, and I'm excited to show those to you all.
